I Have No Control But I Can Do This

I can’t truly ‘control’ anything.

Yes, I ‘influence’ things by my actions, but, the control I really want, I do not have that.

There is a God and I am not it.

This simple declaration, words that I believe in, can free me from all anxiety and fear.

However, I can’t stop my feelings, because again, I am not in control.

So, when feelings of anger, fear, and sadness come, I can still do something.

What I do, I believe must always be based on principals that I can stand by:

• Always be of Service
• Never make an action based on Fear

Service

A life of only looking out for myself is pointless. I will always want more. Desire is a bottomless pit that is never satisfied.

Service however, while never completed, provides an endless fountain of satisfaction, even when the intended goals of the Service fall short.

Fear

When an action needs to be made, I must have a reason, other than Fear, to make that action.

Because otherwise I could justify any atrocity. Fear knows no bounds. Fear has no guardrails.
